Kalvin Doe, also known as DJ Focus, is a self-taught engineer and musician from Sierra Leone, who gained international recognition for his talent at a young age. He was only 15 years old when he became the youngest person ever to be invited to give a TEDx talk.
Kalvin comes from a poor family and had limited resources to pursue his passion for creating electronic devices and music. He learned how to build generators, radios, and other machines by scavenging parts from the trash and using his ingenuity to bring his ideas to life.
He also started DJ-ing and producing music, using his own homemade equipment and incorporating the sounds of the streets of Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. His music and innovation caught the attention of international media, and he has been featured in various documentaries, including the CNN special "Africa's Got Talent."
Despite facing obstacles, Kalvin continues to pursue his dreams and inspire others to pursue their passions, regardless of their circumstances. He remains an inspiration and role model for young people around the world.
